Happy 2011!!!! I have a spectacular project started for the New Year!

Wishing everyone a very healthy and happy New Year!
As some of you may know our daughter Amanda was deployed to Iraq this past Sept...Sept. 11th of all days to be exact....She is with the "Witchdoctors" a very proud group of about 66 men and women from Vermont!  She has been greatly missed in our family.  Christmas just wasn't the same, for that matter everyday is not the same...She is not popping in for dinner occasionally, going shopping with me, having our movie/pizza nights.....the list could go on and on.....
So when she left she wanted me to craft up some kind of mini paper wallet with photos.  Something she could have with her while overseas.
I thought no better time than to get some of the holiday photos together and make a mini album...
A paper bag mini album! These are fun.... I have done a couple in the past as gifts...Funny I always make my items as gifts...I have not a single scrapbook that I have made for myself...Strange! I guess I like the gesture of giving my pieces away and making people happy.
I warn you mostly all of these products are not Stampin Up....Oh no.....But you see I've had this pad of Jo-Ann  paper since before I became a Stampin Up Demonstrator....Its one of my favorite pads of designer paper....All my other favorites are of course Stampin Up!!! te he he....
This paper is called:  Peppermint Forest
The colors are pastels of blues, pinks, and greens.....
I have completed the base today in about 1 hour.  I used white paper bags, I thought with the pastel colors white would work better as a background than the regular brown ones...I like it so far....
I have started embellishing.....I am using various items I had on hand.
I have indeed used some Stampin Up stamps so far. If you are a Stampin Up fan you will be able to pick them out!
Like I said to create the whole book base took me about 1 hour...The first two pages to embellish took me almost 3 hours...most was deciding along the way what to do...I want this to be a fun interactive album for Amanda to have. I hope you enjoy the photos. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask.
Perhaps someday I will get brave enough to post a tutorial video on an item such as this...Someday.....!!!!
Thanks for stopping in and viewing my work!
